Fall Decor ~ Bringing Nature Inside

I have been wanting to bring some nature into our Fall decor this year because I love the feel of natural elements in our home.  Yesterday while I was at my grandmother's house, I picked up a whole bag full of acorns that were just laying on the ground.  I brought them home, filled them in glass jars, and used some fabric and leaves that I already had to create these FREE fall decorations.  Here's what I came up with...hope you like it!

In case you are new to my blog, you can check our some of my other Fall-related posts here:

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Nashville for the Weekend!

Hey guys!  We are in Nashville for the weekend for a friends wedding and it is SO good to be back!  It's so good to be back in our old stomping grounds and see great friends.  Nashville is one of the greatest cities EVER in my opinion.  So many amazing local places that I miss...some of my favorite include:  Sunset Grill, McDougal's, PM, Belmont Blvd, Virago, the Parthenon, The Hill Center, the Green Hills YMCA, Big Bang, Belmont, Vandy Children's Hospital, Lover's Circle, Music Row, Pangea, Pancake Pantry, and Fido's just to name a few :)

In honor of the first day of Fall tomorrow, and being on vacation...here's a view of my morning.  Coffee, pumpkin bread, & RoRo's Cinn-A-Rolls...yum!

Have a wonderful weekend!

5 Minute {DIY} Chalkboard Tray

Good morning!  Today I wanted to share a super easy{DIY} tray I made.  I bought a simple white tray from Goodwill for about $1 and used chalkboard spray paint to make this a fun tray that can have multiple uses in our house.  Right now, it's sitting pretty on our kitchen desk with a warm Fall Welcome :)

Do you find yourself putting chalkboard paint on everything like me?!?  :)

Have a wonderful day friends!

Woohoo for the Weekend!

Woohoo for the weekend!  I pulled the trigger and bought a pumpkin from Whole Foods yesterday...aren't they so cute!?!

We took our puppies to the lake this morning for a run/walk and the weather was so nice.  I love when we actually wake up and do this in the mornings.  It makes the day so much nicer.  Here was my view!

Are ya'll loving all the Fall/Halloween decor out there as much as me?  I am in love with this cute Crate & Barrel mug and plan to pick up a couple today.

I am also loving these items for Fall!  All are under $100!  Do ya'll ever check out Piperlime's "Girls on a Budget"??  So many amazing fashion finds that won't break your bank!

Pumpkin Bread

As promised...here is the Pumpkin Bread recipe!  I made my first batch of pumpkin bread Sunday afternoon, and it was delicious! I make this every year, and it is by far the best recipe I have found for Pumpkin Bread.   I made a double batch and gave some little loaves to our friends.  I used scrap fabric I already had and some fake fall leaves to dress up my gift tags.  This makes such an easy and cute Fall gift!

Pumpkin Bread

3 cups Sugar
1 cup Canola Oil
4 Eggs
2/3 cup Water
2 cups Pumpkin
3 1/3 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. Salt

Mix sugar ad oil together.  Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.  Add pumpkin.  Sift dry ingredients together ad add alternately to the pumpkin mixture with water.  Grease loaf pans and pour batter in pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Makes 2-3 large loaves.

Enjoy!  I'll be linking up to Tasty Tuesdays!

Our Fall Front Door & Fall Treats

Hope ya'll had a good weekend!  Ours seemed really quick, so I am still catching up today.  The weather here has cooled off so much and it has been so nice.  Saturday morning I got a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks on my way home from work, and sat on the back porch and watched the puppies play.  I love moments like that, and can't wait to enjoy more throughout the season.

Today I wanted to share a peak of our front door with you guys.  I made this wreath with one of my girlfriends a few years ago, and it has held up pretty well.  I love a pretty Fall wreath on the front door!

We bought plain brown wreathes, wrapped them in leaf garland, then hot glued the flowers, pumpkins and berries.  We bought everything at Hobby Lobby, so this was pretty inexpensive and easy.

For now this is all I have out there, but I can't wait to purchase some mums and pumpkins for the front porch.  I love how warm and welcoming it makes our little home.

I made my first batch of Pumpkin bread of the season and it was delicious!  I made a double batch and gave some as gifts to our friends in our community group last night.  I used fabric scraps from this project and a fall leaf to tie them together.  I'll share this recipe with you guys tomorrow.  I make it every year and it definitely makes it feel like Fall when your house smells so yummy with the bread in the oven!

Hope ya'll had a great weekend!

Dining Chair Dilemma

We recently sold our 4 chairs that went with our old kitchen table set, and now our poor table is a little bare.  Here is the current state of our dining room...working on the Fall centerpiece!

Here is the List of To-Do's:

Add a Farmhouse Table
Paint & Hung White Mirror
Hang White Panel Curtains
Buy Neutral Runner
Sell Old Chairs
Purchase Chairs/Bench
Add Sconces or Artwork to both sides of Mirror
Purchase Hutch/Storage to Add Some Color
Pair of Lamps on Top of Hutch
Change Lighting to something Softer - Possible Chandelier?

Here are my thoughts on the chairs.  I originally wanted tufted chairs on the ends, a bench in front, and wicker/brown chairs on the back side towards the mirror.  Here are my top chair picks from Overstock.

The wicker and brown chairs are my top choices for along the back of the table...but I am really leaning towards all tufted chairs for the back and sides...and adding a really cool bench to the front.  I'm going to this HUGE flea market called "Canton First Mondays"  in Canton, TX with some girlfriends in a few weeks and hope to find a great deal.

For those of you who have asked...our Farmhouse Table was a Canton purchase for only $150!  If you live in Texas, you definitely need to go.  You can find amazing deals there, and I can't wait to pick up some items for our new house!

Hope ya'll are having a wonderful day!

Fall Centerpiece Inspiration

I have loved the image below for so long, and plan to create something similar for our dining room.  It doesn't seem too difficult to make the rectangular wooden box, and I plan to stain it a dark walnut color.  I love all the different candles and pumpkins.  This is really a cozy and warm centerpiece that will make our home ready for Fall!

Here is the current state of our dining room.  We sold our old table set and have not bought chairs yet, so it's a little sad looking :(  I just put this centerpiece together with random Fall decor I had from last year.  I don't love it, but can't wait to recreate the look above!

And have you heard??  Pumpkin Spice Lattes are BACK!  I plan on getting one today on the way to my Bible Study.  It's the Women's Wednesday morning bible study at our church and I'm doing it with my friend Bethany.  I can't wait for this time to enjoy Fall and grow closer to the Lord this season.

Later this week I plan on sharing my Fall bucket list with you guys.  Can you tell this is my favorite season?!?

Have a wonderful day!
